they recited the quran karim, savoring each word and pondering over its profound meanings. They delved into its verses, extracting guidance and inspiration for their lives.

The Quran’s beauty and wisdom captivated their hearts, prompting them to reflect on its wonders and marvel at its miraculous nature.

Their commitment to the Quran extended beyond mere recitation. They meticulously examined its verses, discerning the general and specific, the abrogated and non-abrogated, and identifying the signs of its divine authorship.

They served as ardent defenders of the Quran’s authenticity, refuting the distortions of extremists and the criticisms of skeptics.

The righteous predecessors never sought to impose their own interpretations or actions upon thequran karim. They understood that true comprehension and adherence to its teachings could only be achieved through careful study and unwavering dedication.

As Ibn Masoud eloquently stated, “If a man among us learned ten verses, he would not go beyond them until he knew their meanings and acted upon them.”

Similarly, Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami recounted, “Those who used to recite us told us that if they knew ten verses, they would not leave them behind until they did what was in them, so we learned the Quran and the work together.”

The righteous predecessors set an exemplary model for approaching the Quran, demonstrating that true understanding and adherence to its teachings stem from a combination of reverence, study, and action.

The Noble Qur'an » At-Tur ( The Mount ) - الطور

وَالطُّورِ الطور [1]
By the mount At-Tur ( The Mount ) [1]
وَكِتَابٍ مَّسْطُورٍ الطور [2]
And [by] a Book inscribed At-Tur ( The Mount ) [2]
فِي رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ الطور [3]
In parchment spread open At-Tur ( The Mount ) [3]
وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ الطور [4]
And [by] the frequented House At-Tur ( The Mount ) [4]
وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ الطور [5]
And [by] the heaven raised high At-Tur ( The Mount ) [5]
وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ الطور [6]
And [by] the sea filled [with fire], At-Tur ( The Mount ) [6]
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ الطور [7]
Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [7]
مَّا لَهُ مِن دَافِعٍ الطور [8]
Of it there is no preventer. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [8]
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاءُ مَوْرًا الطور [9]
On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion At-Tur ( The Mount ) [9]
وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا الطور [10]
And the mountains will pass on, departing - At-Tur ( The Mount ) [10]
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ الطور [11]
Then woe, that Day, to the deniers, At-Tur ( The Mount ) [11]
الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ الطور [12]
Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [12]
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا الطور [13]
The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], At-Tur ( The Mount ) [13]
هَٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ الطور [14]
"This is the Fire which you used to deny. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [14]
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَٰذَا أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ الطور [15]
Then is this magic, or do you not see? At-Tur ( The Mount ) [15]
اصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوا أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ الطور [16]
[Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." At-Tur ( The Mount ) [16]
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ الطور [17]
Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, At-Tur ( The Mount ) [17]
فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ الطور [18]
Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [18]
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ الطور [19]
[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." At-Tur ( The Mount ) [19]
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ الطور [20]
They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [20]
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ الطور [21]
And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [21]
وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُم بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ الطور [22]
And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [22]
يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ الطور [23]
They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [23]
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ الطور [24]
There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [24]
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ الطور [25]
And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [25]
قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ الطور [26]
They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [26]
فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ الطور [27]
So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [27]
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ الطور [28]
Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful." At-Tur ( The Mount ) [28]
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ الطور [29]
So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [29]
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِ رَيْبَ الْمَنُونِ الطور [30]
Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" At-Tur ( The Mount ) [30]
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ الطور [31]
Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." At-Tur ( The Mount ) [31]
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَامُهُم بِهَٰذَا ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ الطور [32]
Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? At-Tur ( The Mount ) [32]
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ الطور [33]
Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [33]
فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِ إِن كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ الطور [34]
Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [34]
أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ الطور [35]
Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? At-Tur ( The Mount ) [35]
أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ الطور [36]
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [36]
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَيْطِرُونَ الطور [37]
Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? At-Tur ( The Mount ) [37]
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ الطور [38]
Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [38]
أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ الطور [39]
Or has He daughters while you have sons? At-Tur ( The Mount ) [39]
أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ الطور [40]
Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? At-Tur ( The Mount ) [40]
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ الطور [41]
Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? At-Tur ( The Mount ) [41]
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ الطور [42]
Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [42]
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ الطور [43]
Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [43]
وَإِن يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ الطور [44]
And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." At-Tur ( The Mount ) [44]
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ الطور [45]
So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - At-Tur ( The Mount ) [45]
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ الطور [46]
The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [46]
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الطور [47]
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [47]
وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ الطور [48]
And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [48]
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَارَ النُّجُومِ الطور [49]
And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. At-Tur ( The Mount ) [49]
